Our educational meetings are designed to share knowledge about rocks, minerals, and related subjects. Each meeting may feature guest speakers, refreshments, silent auction, and information of upcoming events and activities within the Society. Guests are warmly welcome to attend and explore the fascinating world of gem and minerals with us.

Join us for a fun-filled evening at our August Educational Meeting and Ice Cream Social! Don't miss this opportunity to cool off with some ice cream and engage in our auction.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Ice Cream Social

    Setup will begin at 5:30 PM.

    The Ice Cream Social will start at 6:30 PM.

    Volunteers are welcome to help set up. Please label any containers or serving utensils you bring.

    Oral Auction

    Participate in our lively auction and bid on exciting items.

  • What to Bring

    • Ice Cream
    • Toppings
      (sprinkles, chocolate syrup, etc.)
    • Cones
    • Sweet Treats
      (cookies, brownies, etc.)
    • Ice Chest
      (we do not have a freezer available on-site).

What to Expect

  • Welcome New Members and Guests

    Introductions of guests and new members to the Society.

  • Business Meeting

    Includes reports and announcements from the Society's leadership.

  • Presentations

    Expert talks on various topics related to geology, mineralogy, lapidary arts, and more.

  • Social Time

    Enjoy refreshments and socialize with fellow rockhounds before and after the meeting.
