Welcome to the Roseville Rock Rollers Gem and Mineral Society's annual Gem, Jewelry, Fossil & Mineral Show! This highly anticipated event, held every year, is a celebration of the fascinating world of gems, minerals, fossils, and lapidary arts.

Volunteering at our Annual Gem & Mineral Show is a fantastic way to connect with other members, support our Society, and have fun! Whether you're a seasoned member or new to the Roseville Rock Rollers, your help is invaluable. Remember, once it was all new to us, too! You’ll be working alongside experienced members who can provide any needed assistance.

Volunteer Opportunities

August 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, 2024

No Experience Needed

Our volunteer opportunities are open to the community and we welcome volunteers of all experience levels. You'll find a friendly and supportive environment where you can learn and contribute. All volunteers will receive a parking pass for the day their shift. Remember to check in with the chairperson for your assigned area when you arrive.

  • Set Up

    Thursday, August 1st (starts at 8 a.m.):

    Unload items from the storage trailer.

    Set up exhibit cases and place skirting and signs.

    Assist in kitchen, if needed.

    Friday, August 2nd (starts at 9 a.m.):

    Continue setup from the previous day.

    Help exhibitors and vendors with their booths.

    Join us for a worker dinner in the evening.

  • Take Down

    Sunday, August 4th, 4 PM - 8 PM

    Assist exhibitors with packing up.

    Remove exhibit cases and skirting.

    Help pack items into the storage trailer.

    Clean up all areas, including the Silent Auction, Kids’ Junction, Snack Area, and Entrance.

    Fold and store tables and chairs.

During the Show

Saturday, August 3rd, 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM and 1 PM - 5 PM
Sunday, August 4th, 9:30 AM - 1:30 PM and 1 PM - 4 PM
(Kids’ Junction has different times/shifts: 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM, 12 PM - 3 PM, and 2 PM - 5 PM)

  • Kids' Junction

    To work two shifts, signup for first and last shifts.

    Run the train, the spinning wheel, other interactive activities.

    Engage with children in activities.

    Help with sales

  • Admissions

    Greet visitors and take admission fees.

    Assist with forms for hourly drawings.

    Provide information about the Show layout and stations.

  • Raffle

    Sell raffle tickets and explain prizes.

    Assist with the organization of hourly prize drawings.

  • Silent Auction

    Explain auction procedures.

    Help set up auctions and collect money from winners.

    Direct sales of items.

  • Snack Area

    Assist with preparing snacks.

    Cashier duties: take orders and handle payments.

  • Security

    Patrol the assigned building and ensure the safety of guests.

    Stay in contact via cell phones.

    Wear “Security” vests.

  • Greeter

    Stand outside and direct visitors inside.

  • Can Work Anywhere

    Can’t decide which station to volunteer for? Under “Can Work Anywhere” on the Sign Up Form and pick which day and time shift your able to volunteer.
