Where Young Rockhounds Discover and Play

Welcome to the Kids' Junction at the Roseville Rock Rollers Annual Gem and Mineral Show! This special area is designed to spark curiosity and excitement in young rockhounds. Packed with engaging activities and educational fun, Kids' Junction is the perfect place for children to explore the wonders of geology, minerals, and the natural world.

What to Expect

Kids' Junction is a vibrant, interactive space where children can explore, learn, and have fun. Activities are designed to spark curiosity and a love for geology and mineralogy. From hands-on projects to fascinating displays, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants is our top priority. Activities are designed to be safe and supervised by our volunteers. Parents are encouraged to stay close and enjoy the fun with their children.

  • Spinning Wheel

    Kids can spin the wheel to win specimen boxes filled with unique and interesting rocks and minerals.

  • The Train

    Grab bags filled with polished stones and other treasures are available for children to enjoy.

  • Fossil Digging

    A fun activity using coffee and dirt rocks where kids can dig for fossils and uncover hidden treasures.

  • Games

    Various games such as a stack-of-cups challenge and a space rock toss with prizes that include polished stones.

  • Jewelry Making

    Several tables are set up for kids to create their own necklaces, including fossil shark tooth pendants.

  • Education Station

    Engaging poster boards display intriguing facts and beautiful images, offering insights into geology, mineralogy, and the natural sciences.

Costs and Tickets

While some activities at Kids Junction are free, please note that there is a nominal fee to participate in certain activities.

    Six tickets for $5

  • Dino Eggs

    One egg is $3

    Kids can use tools to discover what kind of dinosaur is inside.

  • Gem Hunt

    One session for $5
    Two sessions for $8
    Three sessions for $11.

Exact pricing for some activities may vary, but guests should be prepared for nominal fees.
